Design of the day 17/09/2007

Black + White = Grey. We have a lot of Grey variations. From dark Grey to very light Grey. Website Cameron Moll have a nice Grey mixture with red ad-don. It is so Swiss. Elegant and in order. I really like their typography in header, content and sidebar. Details matter.

There are a lot of young and talented web-designers. Emanuel Blagonic is one of them. He runs Wordpress blog with a three column design. His blog has a really elegant and smooth design. A lot of whiteness with just right logo and header image. Sidebars are nice and not too crowded. Footer is big and spacey with good stuff (Firefox link, etc.).

No, that is not another white design it is quite different. I represent you 31Three - Weblog. Color scheme is something special, especially header. Just look at it. It’s beautifully unique. I also like picture at every entry - something special. Just look at the sidebar - it is not usual. Just like I love to say - Every detail matters. Congratulations Jesse for Lucy Mae.

Website IronFeathers has a wonderful logo and great simple header. Color scheme used for this site is simple, but nice. It is two column design with not so typical sidebar, which I like it by the way. They also have a nice rich footer with bike informations.

Would you go for simple? I know I would. Timm Kekeritz’s online portfolio is just remarkable. Two simple columns, with interactive background. Those circles are randomly appearing from nowhere. When you click on any of content links content come from nowhere, just beautiful.

Well wouldn’t it be great if you could reward your commentators with something valuable?

Google provides a Pagerank for each page, based on the number and strength of links pointing to the page – backlinks.

That’s where Kimmo Suominen’s DoFollow plugin steps in - it removes the <nofollow> tags on commentators’ website links so the search engine spider crawls to their sites – your commentator gets a free backlink!

Gastronaut.hr is a Croatian site with food recipes. They have a nice clean design with lovely top menu in front of picture header. Content is in nice dashed boxes, although there are some mistakes on the site I still think it is a good design.

Today’s design of the day is Max Kaizen’s blog with interesting header. I like the typography in header and random elements. But I would definitely recommend that she changes color of header’s links, because current don’t fit. Otherwise it is a standard three column Wordpress design.

Recently I came across some French blog. Of course I didn’t understand a thing that is written there only word Feed which is international. But now I do understand one thing, the design thing. It’s black & white, unique and beautiful. Check it out at DaWeed.info. It is two column design with Web 2.0 footer. Header has his own nice pattern. Good work.
